The foundation of municipal government is democracy and good governance. This class covers the fundamentals of how that foundation is administered through Council meetings, as well as Robert’s Rules, and the differences between in-camera, committee of the whole and open session.
Also included: tips for making effective presentations to council, best practices for writing council reports, and effective strategies to ensure you provide Council with the necessary information to effectively deal with resident concerns and communicate positively to the public.

- The fundamentals of how the foundation of municipal government, democracy and good governance, is administered through Council meetings.
- Learn about the basic procedural requirements in Council meetings through a high-level review of “Roberts Rules”, which covers the rules of procedure for board meetings.
